Environmental InJustice in Memphis, Tennessee

I partnered with High Ground News to illustrate a story told by Belinda Kerusch, who was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee.

Growing up on Brown Avenue, Belinda was exposed to hazardous chemicals from the nearby Velsicol plant after the company dumped toxic waste into Cypress Creek. North Memphis is predominantly Black and low-income, and the community faces high levels of blight, food apartheid, and disinvestment.
